activ8-3D Forms Partnership With Animazoo Live

activ8-3D are celebrating a newly formed partnership with Animazoo Live, the holographic specialists behind Animazoo and Animalive, responsible for bringing motion capture holographic character projections to life.

The project involves activ8-3D and Animazoo live offering an innovation in event entertainment and marketing strategies, where an actor’s movements and speech are picked up by a motion capture suit, which are then projected in real time as 3D holograms in the form of 3D characters. The actor is hidden from audience view, but the actor can see and hear the audience via a video link, enabling real time interactions. The audience is left baffled wondering how a giant 3D holographic character can hold a conversation, or comment on what they are wearing!

activ8-3D’s executive director, Simon Humphreys, dubbed the move as an ‘exciting new partnership’, he said, “Our new partnership with Animazoo Live has extended the boundaries of the services we can offer to new heights!”

activ8-3D first worked with animazoo live at The Movieum of London's first anniversary party. A giant 3D holographic frog was projected as part of activ8-3D's 3D-holoshow. The frog's tongue-and-cheek humour had the audience in stitches. This partnership’s debut was a great success, drawing in huge crowds eager to chat with the giant 3D holographic frog!

The new partnership offers a wide range of interactive 3D characters, from cute friendly animals to intimidating mechanical robots. Bespoke character design is also offered, opening up the possibility of 3D interactive holographic characters catered for your event or exhibition.

Based on an actor wearing fibre optic sensing devices that capture highly accurate data on full body and head movements, the motion capture system uniquely incorporates data gloves, giving seamless, real time data transfer of intricate hand movements with stunningly integrated effect.

Facial and voice capture is achieved using phonetic driven real time voice capture. This eliminates lip-sync issues and provides full facial expressions and movement, making the holographic display opportunities endless.

Mr Humphreys added, “This partnership is a big thing for us all here at activ8-3D, this revolutionary system is set to pave the way at live events, it can be utilised at sporting events or even gala dinners, where the virtual characters could be used to meet and greet your guests.”
